1. Who we are

CareerIntelligence ("we", "us", "our") operates the CareerIntelligence platform at careerintelligence.app. We provide AI-powered career tools including job match analysis, resume rewriting, cover letter generation, ATS scoring, and interview preparation.

2. What data we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your name and email address
• Account creation date and last login
• Your subscription plan and billing status

Content you provide

When you use our analysis tools, we temporarily process:

• Job descriptions you paste or upload
• Resume text you paste or upload
• Analysis results generated for your account

This content is used solely to generate your analysis results. We do not use your resume or job descriptions to train AI models or for any purpose other than generating your requested analysis.

Usage data

We automatically collect limited usage information including:

• Number of analyses run and date/time
• Which tools you use
• Browser type and device type (not stored long-term)
• Pages visited within the application

Payment information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card details. We receive only a customer ID and subscription status from Stripe. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for how they handle payment data.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the CareerIntelligence platform
• Generate AI-powered analysis results based on content you provide
• Manage your account, subscription, and usage limits
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts)
• Respond to support requests and enquiries
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the platform
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to:

• Train AI or machine learning models
• Sell or rent your information to third parties
• Send unsolicited marketing emails without your consent
• Profile you for advertising purposes

4. How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a SOC 2 compliant database provider. All data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.

We implement row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring that each user can only access their own data. No user can access another user's analyses, profile, or account information.

Our infrastructure is hosted in secure data centres with physical security controls, redundant power, and regular security audits.

5. Who we share your data with

We share limited data with the following trusted service providers who are necessary to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and storage
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
• Anthropic — AI analysis processing (your resume/JD content is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate results. Anthropic's Privacy Policy applies to this processing)
• Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, authentication is handled by Google OAuth

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use minimal cookies necessary to operate the service:

• Authentication cookies — to keep you logged in during your session
• Preference cookies — to remember your settings

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or analytics services that share data with advertisers. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel.

7. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — you can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Correction — you can update your name and email from your account settings
• Deletion — you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us
• Portability — you can request your analysis history in a portable format
• Objection — you can object to certain types of processing by contacting us
• Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time

8. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:

• Account data — retained until you delete your account
• Analysis results — retained according to your plan (Free: not saved; Pro: last 5; Serious Career: unlimited) or until account deletion
• Billing records — retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations
• Support communications — retained for 2 years after your last contact

When you delete your account, we permanently delete all personal data within 14 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of CareerIntelligence after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
